The frame was in relatively good condition. It was straight and no areas of severe rust. While I was working on the suspension I was also working on cleaning and coating the frame. I removed the heavy rust by grinding and wire brushing and coated the entire frame using Eastwoods frame restoration kit. Other than the fact that it took a lot of time to clean the frame this has so far been the easiest part of the rebuild.
